Terms & Conditions

Parent Agreement – Terms and Conditions

By completing an initial assessment form you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions.

My approach to sleep, my sleep plans and techniques are aimed at developing and supporting lifelong healthy sleep habits and supporting positive attachment relationships with parents. Therefore, focus will be on building gentle and nurturing routines and approaches that address and meet the child’s emotional needs for security during sleep work. My aim is to understand you and your family needs and to put into a place a plan that supports your philosophical beliefs and goals.

I am a trained, certified Child Sleep Consultant but I am not medically trained, therefore I do not make medical diagnoses. However, I can support the identification of sleep disorders and suggest when medical support may be necessary.

Please note: I cannot guarantee that your child will not cry throughout the process however, I make pains to ensure that at all times your child is aware of your support and your presence and you will be on hand to comfort them and to provide an emotionally appropriate response to their needs. Remember that crying is communication and in the terms of sleep adjustment; it will be a confusion whilst we adapt their way of sleeping. I do not offer the extinction method (“cry it out”) and all techniques offered will allow for verbal and/or physical reassurance but this does not mean there will be no tears.

Before starting sleep work, parents should ensure their child is healthy, please check with your GP or health visitor if you are not sure.

In some cases, I might suggest that your child visits another specialist in advance of beginning any kind of sleep programme who might be able to help with any outstanding health or behavioral issues that are not in my area of expertise.

Parents should ensure that they have a quiet and stable period in which to implement their suggested sleep plan; continuity, stability and consistency are important.

Sleep Plans

My work focuses on and responds to the uniqueness of each child, parent and family and their situation; sleep issues are investigated, assessed and analysed accordingly; therefore, your sleep plan is developed specifically for your use only. I ask that parents do not share details of their plans on social media networks – my work and approach is unique; I ask this to prevent plagiarism of my approach.

Points to Note:

  1. The total cost of the sleep package is required before the initial assessment form is sent. Once your order has been successful on my website, an assessment form will be emailed to you within 24 hours.
  2. Cancellation policy: Sleep package fees are non-refundable once the bespoke sleep plan has been issued. If you decide to halt support during a package, you will also not be eligible for a refund. This is to cover the work and preparation already invested by Hush Baby Sleep. If you cancel before a sleep plan has been issued (following completion of an assessment form), Hush Baby Sleep has the right to hold £100 to cover any time, assessment and work already put into your sleep plan. If you decide not to continue before an assessment form has been completed and a subsequent sleep plan has been issued but a scheduled start date had been arranged, Hush Baby Sleep reserves the right to hold 75% of the package cost to cover admin time and the loss of refusing other potential clients at this time.
  3. Initial assessment forms: these will be emailed to you with 24 hours of your successful order via my online shop. No paperwork is released by Hush Baby Sleep until your order has been cleared.
  4. Support (either email or WhatsApp) will run continuously from the start date with support being offered between 9.00am-9.00pm. The exception is the support offered within the Platinum package where 21 days of support can be used within 12 months of the agreed start date.
  5. It is the parent’s responsibility to contact Hush Baby Sleep during the support period; it is parent led.
  6. If a moving on plan is required, this must be purchased no later than 30 days after the package end date to ensure information used to create your bespoke moving on plan is relevant.
  7. Additional weeks of WhatsApp support as listed in “Additional Services” must be paid for and run continuously after the initial support period is over to ensure relevancy and consistency.
  8. Your details and information shared with me remains confidential and is protected by GDPR legislation.
  9. Confidentiality of consultations and written support offered via email and/or text/WhatsApp: sleep chats and consultations shall remain confidential; all information imparted to me remains confidential and I ask my clients to also respect my privacy; please do not discuss the details/contents of sleep chats and consultations publicly or on social media. Breech of this element of my confidentiality will result in termination of our agreement & contract.
  10. There are some situations where I would share confidential information, even if you don’t agree as it is my professional responsibility to report any concerns regarding the welfare and safeguarding of a baby, child or family that I work with. If any concerns are raised, I have a duty to report this to the police or local Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).
  11. My role is to support, empower and offer practical suggestions with an aim to resolve sleep problems.
  12. Sleep plans alone do not improve sleep; the parent’s role is important in following through suggested approaches and strategies with consistency to provide the greatest potential for change. I do not provide guarantees that I can resolve all sleep problems.
  13. It is the responsibility of the family to utilise the support (be it WhatsApp or email). If I do not hear from you, I will make the assumption that all is well and my guidance is not needed. To make improvements it is the family’s responsibility to keep me updated.
  14. Parents maintain and hold full responsibility for their child’s health throughout sleep work.
  15. Delay to start: If an assessment form has been returned completed but the agreed start date of the package has been pushed back by more than 14 days; a full reassessment will be required and this will incur an additional charge of £49 to cover the time of analysing the new completed assessment form.
  16. Illness: If your child becomes unwell during the duration of the support period which deeply impacts their ability to sleep, we can pause the support until such time where the child is in better health providing it is within 14 days. Anything longer and a new assessment may need to be completed and analysed, this will incur an additional charge of £49 to cover the extra time to re-assess your information and re-issue a bespoke plan. The initial assessment can still go ahead as sleep work does not need to start immediately.
  17. In case of my illness, I will provide you with good notice where possible and ensure minimal disruption to our time working together.
  18. My methods are tried and tested, and they have made positive impacts on the families I have worked with. However, they are not guaranteed and if over a period of time despite consistent application your find that they are not having the desired effect then you may want to speak to your GP or another health professional to make sure that there are no underlying problems.

I am committed to providing a high standard of service and welcome open and constructive communication. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your experience, you agree to contact me directly in the first instance at kat@hushbabysleep.co.uk and provide a reasonable opportunity for me to resolve the issue.

You agree not to post or publish negative reviews, comments, or feedback in public forums (including social media, online review sites, or blogs) without first attempting to resolve the matter privately with me. This is to ensure fairness, allow for context, and maintain a respectful dialogue.

This clause does not restrict your legal right to leave a review, but encourages resolution through appropriate and professional communication channels.
