About Me
Hi, I’m Kat – founder of Hush Baby Sleep, but more importantly, I’ve been right where you are.
My journey into sleep coaching began when my daughter was 8 months old. She needed constant help to fall asleep, woke frequently through the night, and without fail, started her day at 5:00am. It was exhausting.
The lack of sleep took a toll on my well-being, strained my relationship with my husband, and without any family support (thanks to a global pandemic), I felt completely overwhelmed. I honestly thought I was failing. My daughter was often unsettled during the day, and looking back, it was clear she was chronically sleep-deprived.
I didn’t know when she should be sleeping, how long for, or that helping her learn to self-settle would be the turning point we so badly needed.
That experience changed everything – and it’s what inspired me to support other parents through their own sleep struggles with compassion, clarity, and evidence-based solutions.
My Story
When I finally reached my breaking point, I reached out to a sleep consultant – and it truly changed everything.
Within just two weeks of support, my daughter was falling asleep independently in her cot, settling within minutes. Her naps became predictable, her routine finally made sense, and she started sleeping 11–12 hours a night. Most importantly, she was happier and more content during the day – and so was I.
Evenings became peaceful again. I could spend quality time with my husband instead of dreading the next wake-up. That transformation is what sparked my passion for helping other families reclaim their rest and their joy.
I remember all the things people told me when I was pregnant – “Say goodbye to sleep,” “You’ll never get a full night again,” – but it doesn’t have to be that way. You do not have to accept poor sleep as the norm.
Quality sleep is possible, and you have more influence over it than you might think. I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
Now, five years on, my daughter continues to be an incredible little sleeper. Her sleep is predictable and well-established. She’s navigated teething, cot-to-bed transitions, house moves, and holidays without a hitch — all because we invested early in her sleep and built healthy habits that have truly lasted. That foundation gave us, as parents, the confidence and clarity we needed.
In 2021, I decided to train as a sleep consultant so I could help other families experience the same transformation. I gained my certification through the Psychology of Child Sleep Training (accredited by the IICT), and since then, I’ve supported over 1,000 families to reclaim their nights, their beds — and their sanity — through better sleep.
In February 2025, I completed the OCN Level 6 Sleep Practitioner Programme at the London School of Childcare Studies, and in January 2026 I achieved my second OCN Level 6 qualification through EDS Training in Advanced Paediatric Sleep.
The sleep industry remains unregulated, which is why holding the highest level of accredited training is so important to me. It ensures I’m equipped with the most up-to-date research, science, and practical tools to support families effectively and ethically.
Because when I invest in my education, I’m investing in your family’s success.
